96-98 oem civic rear lip on a 2000 civic si
I just picked up my rear lip from honda and was going to make sure it bolts up to the bumper before I got it painted. I was searching on here and clubsi and didn't see much but that it does have to be modified a little. Does anyone know exactly what I need before I start? I hate being in the middle of a project and I don't have what I need, so any help would be well appericated.

actually hatchback rear bumpers are different from sedans and coupes,..but i think its only the upper portion of the bumper (the part that is closes to the taillights) that is different,...i think the bottoms of the bumpers are the same

From honda, I have a buddy that works in the parts department and he found me one. I can get two more but they are very expensive.

What I meant was I thought,
coupe->coupe was the same
hatch->hatch same
sedan->sedan same.

List price was $349 but I paid $265. I love the employee discount. He said if anyone else wanted one he might be able to go as low as $300.

spids5,
Is this painted or not? was this designed for a 2 door hatchback, 2 door coupe or 4 door? What is the part number on the box? I might be interested in this even at $300, which is a LOT. JDM ones cost about this much, help me out and let me know. Thanks...

'96-'98 coupe rear bumper = '96-'98 sedan rear bumper
'99-'00 coupe rear bumper = '99-'00 sedan rear bumper
'96-2000 sedan and coupe rear bumpers are interchangeable, though.

actually, i think the 99-00 coupes/sedans have an extra lip on the bottom of the rear bumper.

I know that but what exactly do I have to do. And to everyone that wants one let me know because there are only a couple left. The one I got came painted black but there are two black ones left and I think he said one or two green ones. I don't have a part number anymore but I can post some pics of my lip.

Re: (spids5)
Did you buy it from Carmichael Honda?
I believe there is a guy here with a red Si coupe running the '96-'98 OEM rear lip. I can't remember his username, though, but I'm sure if you do a search you'll find his posts where he puts up his pics. You can probably e-mail or PM him to see what needs to be done.

dang someone beat me to it, I was going to mention scrapin si as well. He mentioned it had to be modified, not sure exactly how though. And yes, 96-98 coupe bumpers are different from 99-00. I have both.

I seen the 96-98 rear lips on ebp coupes...they look great. I'll upload a few once I get my other computer to boot up.

I would like to see them. I have a ebp si but havn't put the lip on because I waiting for the spoiler to arrive so I can paint them both at once.
