i kept complaining about mine, and mine has a gap. mine is factory 2000 civic, no front end damage. if you search the forums and pictures, a TON of these cars have that gap.

when you put the 99-00 bumper on a 96-98 you gotta trim a notch on the tabs that mount to the core support

if you didnt take the picture with a 1962 camera then we could help. i would just try to adjust the parts. are the parts oem? if not then thats your problem.

Its not the lights/grill. It is the hood. I have done and seen my fair share of 99-00 conversions as i do work at a body shop part time and 99.9% of non oem hoods have the gap between the grill/lights. Get a oem hood and that gap will be gone.

Its not a 99-00 conversion.
A OEM hood isnt special, trust me. My friends old cars complete front end was certa-fit. switched out to oem. Still lined up like ***.

As far as what i have seen they are poor quality. I guess the off brands they sell in this state just suck then cause that is the only issue i have seen, Never had issues with lights, fenders, bumpers, nothing. Just the hoods.

Ok, but because you have never seen the issue just mean it isnt there. trust me, i have tried everything to get the gaps to go away. It is the headlights.

oh, i see now, that would bug the crap out of me. i wouldnt even be able to drive it lol and honestly i've had my front end on and off 100 times and never ran into a problem where the hood wont line up. so im guessing the hood isnt put on properly?

So what parts are OE and what are aftermarket? Because that hood looks like it's wider than it should be..? It covers the inner edges of the lights more than I'd expect. It's very weird. This isn't the common gap I'm used to seeing at all.
Have you tried adjusting the left bump stop to lower it? Just twist it to adjust.

That looks an awful lot like a '96 - '98 hood to me, doesn't seem to follow the same contour as the headlights.
Edit, on second thought maybe not, its definitely not fitting right though

Re: 96-98 frnt end conv. 99-00 a gap on the hood
Yeah, I checked again to make sure. You're right, Eric. That is a '99-'00 hood for sure. An easy way is to look at the section that matches up between the grille and headlights. The '99-'00 hood (and section on the bumper) is thinner here than the matching part on a '96-'98 hood/bumper. The '99-'00 grille is wider than the '96-'98 grille.
