Default 96-98 civic HB or Coupe?

First of all I want to say hi to everybody since I am new on the board.

Hi

I am looking at buying a 96-98 civic HB or 2 door Coupe and dropping in a B18C1(GSR) or a B18C5(ITR). I want a car that is good to run some 1/4 mile and also good for the track/solo runs... I need a car that is all around good handling but also fast.

I am looking for a couple of opinions on what is the best choice and also if you have had any good or bad experiences with these combinations.

Thanks

Ian

EK HB, preferably a CX... since they are lighter.

hatch is lighter, but get the one you like best. that way you won't regret it.

Get a hatchie, I'm on my second coupe ('96, '98), and I am sorry I wasted all that money. Now, I just bought an '92 EG, best move I've made yet!

Hey, want a '98 Si?

I had an EK hatch, now I have an EG hatch....I think the 5th gens are lighter than the 6th gens.

well, i had a 97 hb. i like the body design and the various aftermarket for that chassis. however, i would rather get and eg since it is lighter and a bit smaller. thats just my .02

I was originally thinking about getting the EG but a lot of the EG's in Canada have a lot of body damage already and if I am doing the engine swap I might not have to much money for the body. so I thought it will be safer to pick up an EK. Also I think the Ek coupe has a killer look.

I will give you $5000 CDN for the '98 Si ... no but how much???

jdmsir did you drop anything special into the EK or EG and if so what and how do you feel about it. I am asking because I think I will be putting a Japanese spec. B18c1 and wondering what your times are for 1\4 mile etc? And how does it handle at the track?
