Default 96-98 Civic 2dr/4dr vs. 3dr Mud guards

Ok, I just wanted to know what was the difference between the rear 2dr/4dr mudguards and the 3dr mudguards. I know the two fronts are identical but not sure if the 2dr/4dr would be able to fit. I seem to run into 2dr/4dr for sale constantly and when i find a set for Hatchback their outrageously overpriced. If anybody knows of a site which has them for sale at reasonable price please let me know as well.

I think the coupe and sedan ones are interchangeable but not for the hatchbacks for the rears.

Damn, who would've thought they had them in stock! I asked today and they had one set in stock! And turns out they had 30% off on all items in stock! So it came out to $66.66.

This thread can die now, lol

They definitely wont' fit the other body... well, save for some modification perhaps. I'd take some pics later, but my coupe has it's lip on and I'm not about to take that off to hold up some mudguards.

i have a question for you guys/girl around sorta the same line.

i just bought my mudguards for my 98 LX on egay for 64.95 shipped. the front end of my car was changed proir to my owning it to the 99-00 front.

but i have no idea if i bought the right mudguards, since i dont know how to tell if my rear bumper is 96-98 or 99-00. do they even bolt up?

Well, there are three different mudguard sets.

- '96-'98 coupe/sedan
- '99-'00 coupe/sedan
- '96-'00 hatch

The fronts are all the same for all of these. So the only difference is the rear construction so the guards will fit around the bumper properly.

Look here for photos of the different rear bumper shapes. That bottom edge is the issue. And remember, coupes and sedans can use the same bumpers.
