96-2000 Civic Omni Power Camber arm owners look at this!!
Ok maybe this is an isolated incodent, or maybe not with all the problems Omni Power has had as of late. So for a while now i have heard a noise and felt a small shake in my front end, me being the guy i am I need to know what is going on with my car. So I jack up the front take a look and everything looks ok, I do this a few times over a period of 2 weeks trying to figure out what the problem is, after all this i had some freinds take a look as well. The end result was we could not see anything wrong with my front end. We had dismissed anything to do with the upper end because of the fact i had replaced the upper end components which included a set of Omni Camber arms. Well today after the noise got worse i decided to take another look, but this time i looked at the upper end, this is what I found.
The bushings that go through the camber arm itself had torn away. So for the last couple of weeks this is what i have been riding on, thank god it didnt come apart completly! In one of the pics u can see i can put a screw driver in between the bushing and the camber arm itself.
Ok now, I don't want to start a panic or anything like that, I went with Omni cause of Steve Omni man's name, but at this point with the coil overs, the clutch master cylinders and now my camber arms failing, I have to say, if ur running Omni anything take a look at it and make sure its not falling apart on you!
Here is a pic of what the bushings should look like, this was taken the day I installed these on my 96 coupe.

smoovy, at the moment no, I emailed the company i bought them from first, once i hear from them i will go to who ever i have to get this fixed!

this is where i come in and say told you so about trusting these new companys making generic stuff. im worried about people who use omni valvetrain.
iono maybe your right about just an isolated case. but still i like to go with whats tried and true.

LOL well u know like i said it was "STEVE OMNI MAN" that made me think this wasnt just another shitty company, sucks cause i really thought these would be fine. O well u live and learn.

I honestly wouldn't worry about his valvetrain. There is another well known company using what I believe to be the same exact design and I have yet to see any issue arrise from that.

Yea I hear u on the design stand point, but I think the manufacturing process is where the problem lies, I don't know who manufactures the valve train for them, but the suspension division is not working out! lol, in any case just for my piece of mind if I was reading this thread and the many others about omni having problems. I would take a look at whatever i was running that was made by them and continue to monitor it for a while.

Good God, not another problem. Don’t think this is just a manufacturing problem. All these problems have to deal with bad design lack of testing and some manufacturing issues. The coil overs snapping at the bottom is the one that takes the cake if you ask me. I’m sorry but I would recommend people stay away from his stuff. Way to many problems.

If those are the same as oem style(not sure how aftermarket uca's work) Then you need to actually tighten that bolt that goes thru the center with the suspension under a load.
The stock clamps the metal bushing piece, and if its too tight, the rubber will tear.

I read the "under a load" part, i tightened those when the car was on the ground on the 96-2000 civics the bolts for the UCA's go through inside the engine bay. I know how to work on my car and install these, I also know how to reset and tighten bushings correctly.

Man, thks for the heads ups!!! I was about to order a mother load of Omni products this week...I guess I better find another suspension product...I hope you get your problem fixed
