Default 96-00 DX Tranny Question

I recently did a tranny swap from auto to 5spd. Ok everything is good, BUT i've noticed everynight i get 2-3 drops of oil on my driveway. The oil drips seems to be coming from the side of the tranny. So anyways, I recently changed my clutch and noticed there's not a plate that hides/protects the flywheel, and was wondering can oil leak out from there?? any suggestions are appreciated. Later ya'll

that sheild is a dust/rock sheild...dont worry about it to much...

if your worried about the leak, take a peek and try and trace it...sometimes the tranny drain plug isnt tightened enough...

if oil is leaking from the tranny area (WTF is the cover??) likely it is a rear main seal.

I've never had or seen a leaky tranny or rear main seal, YET!~

only if the balljoint is hard as **** to remove...... check FAO Axle Tutorial. anytime "oil" leaks from the tranny..... 90% of the time it is the axle seal

damn! now that i think of it, u may be right. I notice that the oil comes around the axle near the tranny side. How does the seal to that look like?? is it just a rubber washer??

it's a big circular shaped piece of rubber that goes around the hole in the transmission where you stick the axle in. you can get a new one from Honda for pocket change. just be careful not to fu** it up when you put the axle back in. i've done it before.... PM me if it gets to difficult.

It could also be the axle seal also. They tend to wear out and leak after awhile.
