So, i just got cited for clear signals and I was unaware that it was illegal. Obviously I need to change the bulb to amber but funny thing is I can only find clear bulbs at Schucks and Autozone. I know they make them can someone please help. Can I use amber tape or spray?

Note: I bought the car this way from a 3rd party and the last thing I want is to get another BS ticket for my clear markers. Ahh! This is crap! Ha ha, I just want to be cool with the po po.

I have a 98 Hatch and from what I can tell it has OEM lights but my front signals are clear too! I checked the catalog in AZ and it shows a clear bulb as the replacement as well?!?!?
All I have in my front marker lights/signals is a small amber reflector behind the bulb, which I think IS OEM....

Thats the issue is clear reflectors are illegal clear bulbs are not. I guess I will look around here. There is also the translucent tape or spray option.

It's true about the reflectors. Some cars say a 1992 Prelude come oem with clear headlights and clear corners, but.....at the bottom of the from bumper, the car has a very long amber turn signal that wraps around and can be seen from the side of the car!

Also, in other countries around the world, most have side markers....like Japan and Europe are good examples. This is another way to keep your car legal here if you want to run clear corners!

96-98 civics have clear bulbs as turn signals because there are yellow caps that go inside the lights covering the bubls.

And the rear light covers are yellow on the turn signal part.

A bulb connection part from a 99-00 civic fits right in 96-98 lights, then you can run yellow bulbs meant for a 99-00.

Thanks everyone. I actually went down to Autozone and 1157A fit and they are amber. Now its off to court to do what I do with every ticket, contest, this time with neat pictures. Ha ha. Hopefully the judge will be sympathetic and adhere to the fact I was never warned about what I didn't know.

A cop wouldn't pull over a 1967 Ford Mustang for having modifications but they have no problems pulling over a Honda. Honestly, at this point I want to sell my car and buy stock. I feel like the nerd in high school that grew up to make enough money to dump into a car and I still get picked on the by the jocks that never made it college. Funny thing is my car is pretty clean. No kit, fancy lighting, giant exhaust, or hydros for the extreme. I just want to drive in peace but apparently it is too much to ask.
