Auto Honda/Acura Trannys Suck *** They sucked from day one and still suck till this day. Honda knows this and gives extended warranty on their trannys now, for free.

Well might not be as widespread but there is a problem with HOnda's Auto trannys. My uncle has a 2004 TL Type S and already has been in for two tranny repairs.

What's CVT? my friend had a 91 DX HB with Home Depot Intake and Dyno Muffler Exhaust and she beat on it all the time with 136,000 miles on it with no problems with the tranny. Is your's modified or stock and how do you never take it past 3,000 RPM's? This makes it sound like you either have no highway, you merge slow or you take all local roads. I hope you get this worked out but I would think that something more than a post on Honda-Tech would be required to get Honda USA to notice.

Im having a hard time understanding the reason for this thread, other than the fact that youre complaining about an issue that none of us can do anything about. Seriously, contact Honda about it, and make sure you have references and others to back up your claims. I highly doubt anything will happen, but its better than just bitching about it.

oh so now the attitudes gone.
either way, as stated before most of us drive stick and prolly cant help you anywhere near as much as Honda can.

Contact Honda of America at the following:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Honda Automobile Customer Service
P.O. Box 2964
Torrance, CA 90509
Phone: 800-999-1009
Be sure to have copies of all maintenance repairs associated with CVT repairs as they'll most likely ask for it. You should also register the vehicle here for recall information:
https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/user_profile.asp
On a side note, I've not heard of too many problems with the HX CVT belts. Where are you getting your info on repeat failures with other owners?
