i've had this car for over 3yrs now..lately i've notice i would get wheel hop in 1st gear, and 1st gear only..even if i rev it up to 3krpm, hold and release clutch slowly it would still hop a little bit..

would this be a sign of clutch going out? pretty sure i have stock clutch in there..well, i'm uncertain because when i got the motor it was a 2nd hand motor..drove just fine..no problem after the engine swap..just now notice it doing the hop..tires are good..50% left ..pressure at 32psi all around..oe spec..cold measure..

stock more with minor bolts on..nothing specials.. wheels balanced and aligned..rotate 15000 miles ago..

help?

Sounds like it could be clutch chatter, especially if only in first gear.

does the clutch feel different? how is your suspension ?

it hop because it doesn't have traction...may need some traction bars to stiffen up the car...

well here's what i have..i have the apc strut tower bar..kyb shock on stock springs..i have gsr rear sway bar, blox lca, rear upper strut tower bar..rear disc brake conversion using 95 civic ex setup..this car is my DD..i haven't notice anything out of place seems normal to me..although, last month i did replace the clutch master and slave cylinder because it was leaking at the clutch pedal. i see all this thick black sud looking inside the clutch master cylinder and the pedal feel very mooshy...swap out with gsr clutch master and slave cylinder and everything is great..clutch feel just like be for, grab good..but now notice only first gear wheel hop slightly..

then today i redline it once, drove through town and the wheel hop has lessen a lot..very strange.
