95eg with built z6 swap
a friend of mine gots a 95eg and is having problems starting the motor, it cranks but dont start. while trying to start the car back fires some. Also as its cranking it starts off fast but slows its way down like if its killing the battery. when he tryed jumping it or tryed starting it with jumper cables connected from another car, it cranked but also didnt start but we had noticed that the jumper cable started smoking. The ecu also smelt like if it got bunrt up. Why does the ecu smell like that and what might the problem be why the car isnt starting?

The jumper cable started smoking? That's odd. That means resistance is building in the wire, which creates heat. Possibly a shot battery could cause this, but I'm not even sure about that, to be honest.
If your ECU also smells like its burnt (like an electrical fire type of smell) than that would be a good place to begin troubleshooting the no-start problem.
