pull the plug on the vss and make sure its not corroded, make sure none of the wires popped out. Switch it with the single cam one, still not working try to reground the plug. do the same with the coolant sensor

vss is on the back of the trans, 3 prong connector, right under throttle body, and the coolant sensor is on the side of the head, 1 prong push on type connector

vss is plugged in nice and tight, i disconnected and reconnected but the speedo still doesnt work.

my next guess would be that the cable came unplugged behind the cluster? the speedo used to work not that long ago so now im really stumped.

im also spitting out white/grey smoke from the tail pipe, smells nasty, thoughts as to what seals i could have possibly blown?

i just saw on another thread that fuse 15 controls the speedo. i actually checked all fuses under the dash but nothing was blown. then again, there were open slots so i'll have to double check what numbers they were.

http://media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/m...pdf/23-a36.pdf

this shows slot 24 using the VSS, slot 15 says "gauge assembly". this car has SRS and i guess that makes a difference in the slot orientation.

alright well the fuse for the VSS is good, the connector is still seated properly, i have no clue what else it could be. the speedo used to work not that long ago.
