95 Sedan Upper Cowl Clips With New Weatherstip
Hey everyone!
I am having a dreaded leak on my passengers side floor board. I decided it may be the cowl under the hood giving me problems and sure enough the weatherstripping was toast.
Anyways, I installed new weather stripping like shown here.

The only problem I am having is I can't seem to get the upper clips to pop in with the new weatherstripping. Or do they not need to pop in?
I am talking about part number 23 listed here.

I did order some new clips but I could get the old ones to sit there, but they do not seem to be grabbing. With the thicker weatherstrip how do I get these to pop in? Brute force worked for the bottom clips, but the top ones just seem to pop back out way easier than when they first came out so maybe they aren't sitting right in the hole? Anyone have any experience with this?
As for the leak, if this fails, which I'm praying that it does not, I am going to check the firewall seam and the under the roof trim.
Anyone have any suggestions on the clips or the leak? This has been driving me nuts. I am close to just parking her in the garage and banning her from rainy days because I don't want my electronics to be ruined.
Thanks for any advice you can offer!
