Icon2 95 rear disc conversion question.

Whats up guys.. im doing a rear disc conversion on my 95 civic si coupe
so far
i have my
master cylinder
prop valve 40/40
rear disc's from a GSR
Dot 5 brake fluid
& im in the process of get some SS lines.

the question i have for you guys is that on the rear discs the ebrake cable are snapped/cut..

so i have to purchase another set of cables... i was wondering if anyone knows which cables i need i believe its either the
6th gen SIR ebrake cables
or the GSR ebrake cables..

i know one is shorter than the other.. i believe its the GSR.. im not too sure thats why i made this post.. if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it
thanks in advance

well as far a the e-brake cable i don't know
but for the love of god don't use dot 5
dot 5 is silicone based and will **** up your abs
there is a new fluid out dot 5.1 it's the same as dot 5 but not silicone based
the valves in abs move fast as hell allowing pressure and bleading off pressure
that rapid movement causes bubbles to accure in sillicone based fluids
your good with dot 4 but if ya just want the best go dot 5.1

true...
regardless
the silicone will eat at the factory brake lines (from what i was told)
so why risk it?
just use the right ****

it doesnt matter which e brake cable you use... they all work the same. I have 95 gsr rear disc brakes on my 97 honda civic. The e brake cables work whether its a gsr or not. all 94-01 integras rear disc brakes works including cables and same goes for 92-95 civic Si and all 99-00 civic si

and whats wrong with dot 3?

Good luck getting all those bolts off if you're in T-dot. Rusted solid. I recommend PB Blaster from Crappy Tire, but even that won't cut it I'm thinking, based on my experience at the wrecker's.

For my brake swap I'm going to prep with PB, then mark which bolts I want loosened and bring it in to a shop and have them loosen with air tools and apply some anti-seize.

Yeah, I recall there being a lot of unhappiness experienced by a HT member who recently sheared off a bolt when trying to remove his old knuckles...better safe than sorry.

are you sure its a 95 si/ex-s coupe and not just an ex?? becuase si/ex-s coupes should already come with rear disc and ABS. anyways, to answer your e-brake cable question you can use any from 90 through 00 integra. they fit perfect and you can find plenty of 90-93 integras in the junkyards.

1. any ebrake cables from any integra/ civic with rear disks.

2. sell prop valve, not needed for swap and provides ZERO benefit. This topic has been beaten to death in another forum. 95 Civic Si's use 3030 with their rear disks

3. Dot 3 brake fluid is all you need

x2!!

I cant stress this enough either.. I have integra rear disc brakes on my 97 civic hatchback and I didnt even need to change the prop valve either.. its been argued that 40/40 prop comes on all 96-00 civic hatches which to me seems true because I havent touched my prop valves and they brake just as good as any integra but even better with performance pads and rotors.

He's from Canada. It's a 95 Si Coupe with rear drums.

But, you make a good point. If you want to find the exact part number that exactly matches the cables you need on a Coupe with rear disc -- look up the part number for the US EX Coupe w/ ABS:

WIRE A, R. PARKING BRAKE - 47510-SR4-933
WIRE A, L. PARKING BRAKE - 47610-SR4-934

These parts are found on the following vehicles. (Remember, US 4dr EX = CDM 4dr EX-V):

CIVIC 92 93 4DR EX ABS
CIVIC 94 4DR EX ABS 4DR LX ABS
CIVIC 95 4DR EX ABS 4DR LX ABS
