Default Tranny Swap, Starter bolt wont line up..

As the title states, I just did a tranny swap for my Y8. Everything went smooth until I went to bolt the starter up. The long bottom bolt wont thread through to the block. Is there a trick/tip to getting the engine and tranny lined up to ensure the bolt holes line up? I tried loosening the tranny bolts in different patterns to get it to line up but no luck. Any help would be apprechiated. Thanks

I figure you have tried this, but the short top bolt isn't tightened down is it?

No, I don't even have the shorter bolt in. I just tried to thread the bolt in to make sure everything was lined up and it wasn't.

I'm thinking I might have to take the tranny off again an put it back on, when I do I was going to try and get the bolt threaded in then tighten the tranny back up. Don't really want to take it off and put it back on though.

I'm pretty sure I seen 2 dowel pins on each side of the tranny before I bolted it up. Maybe the threads are messed up? Don't really know how that would of happened considering I removed the bolt and that was the last time I touched it.

True, I didn't figure to ask. When u say won't thread, do u mean won't start to thread or won't reach?
