95 Honda Civic DX Headgasket replacement question...
I'm replacing my head gasket on my 95 Honda Civic 1.5L SOHC. I ordered a head gasket kit FEL-PRO but it came with the shitty head gasket steel core laminate material, some people are telling me to go with a dual layer steel head gasket. What are some good brands or places I could get a good dual layer head gasket?

Re: 95 Honda Civic DX Headgasket replacement question...
i've had zero issues with the fel-pro gasket. Been running strong for about 5 months now. the oem replacement i had before this lasted 120 miles. If you're running stock of bolt ons the fel-pro will work just fine.

I'm assuming you have the D15B7 in that DX of yours. I would suggest the OEM leak gasket replacement. From what I understand it's a 4 layer MLS steel head gasket. The 4 layers will keep you closer to stock compression while giving you the added benefit of the stronger MLS gasket style over the original graphite type gasket. The 4 layer also recommends you get different head bolts. ARP studs are a great alternative that you never have to worry about again.
The drawback to any MLS gasket is you will need to send your head in to make sure the RA of the surface is really low (really smooth). The graphite gasket is more forgiving but isn't as durable.

Ishino is the OEM head gasket maker for your car.
Item#6 - 12251-PM5-S02 GASKET, CYLINDER HEAD (ISHINO GASKET) CAN 1

Re: 95 Honda Civic DX Headgasket replacement question...
I just bought a fel pro head set. I figure the ARPs will make up for any problems..
a steel gasket came out of it, figured I should use a steel gasket but ehh 75$ for a head set > 75$ for a head gasket alone
