i'm still lost as to why you would swap a b20 out for a b20. if there's nothing wrong with the one thats in there, leave it alone and just go b20/vtec. look in the faq for some links with how to's in there.

they have a vtec subharness on evay for 35 bux i had a cx before, u just put it into your harness its 3 wires easy as hell... anyway the b20/vtec kit is like $175 and then all u need is a b16 head or a gsr head, so less then like 800 bux ur done plus like a day in the garage if u do it rite

then again you have b18c5 gsr swap b20/vtec
my thing is if you doing it, do it right first time and be safe with it !! people go back and forth cuz they dont know what they want out of it in future..
the question is that you need to ask yourself is how much power you looking for and how much money you willing to spend!!
Me personaly if you looking to spend 5000 grand buy k24 550 whole swap and then go from it you wont regret it!!

I am all for H22, I have a 95 cx and I think for the money and power its well worth it. Or just search junkyards my buddy got a k20 with tranny for 1200 at a local junkyard. Just wait and search for the perfect time.

b18c1 = GSR
For the same amount that he spends on the K24 swap, He could have 2 professionally built b20/vtecs that would pull that k24 and still have money left over. Its not a matter of how much power you want, you can make any amount of power from any engine. Its mostly about money, If you have a >$1000 budget, do a b20/vtec. Anymore, and you can have the block built for boost, or have a Vtec head built for N/a with some aggressive cams, and a nice tune.
First, Id say worry about security, suspension, and getting your car up and running healthy (if not already) THEN do a swap. I cant tell you how many people I see with junkyard EG's that have **** falling apart, broken headlights, and dented fenders yet, they insist on doing a $1500 swap when theyre car cant even ride properly.

Here's an aswer for more power that is often over looked!!
Why not source out a PR8 cylinder head....the big bad non vtec b20 head that bolts on with no extra wiring, and yet flows the same as a vtec head and comes oem with 33mm valves!
From there, you could cam it up, or even go with a cheap used JR charger or turbo setup....endless options

Re: 95 hatch - what to swap?
instead of going b20vtec, i say go boost. About the same amount of money but yields more horses. Better bang for your buck. I agree with fatpride111 though, make sure its a car worth swapping into before you do anything motor-wise.

Re: 95 hatch - what to swap?
If youre going through the trouble of buying a head, and installing it, then just do it a PR3 head. Only difference is you get much more power, and you have to wire up 3 wires.
woopty ****ing do.

Re: 95 hatch - what to swap?
I believe B20's dont handle boost very well as theyre sleeves are thinner due to the 84mm bore.
