I did panels in my hatchie...but its gutted and i cut wood to fit within one of the holes revealed by taking out an interior panel. Took about 10 bucks in wood and paint and a jigsaw.
Ill take pics eventually... bt i havent had the chance.

edit: they were 6x9s, and sound great. Ill try and take pics on tueday cause tomorrow i ahve work and a final...but if your close i could make em for you

Just take some sheet metal, a screwgun, and some self-tapping screws. There's some nice thick metal behind those panels if you dig deep enough...j/k
I'd say get some an aluminum bar and bend them to mount on whatever's in there. When I put 14 speakers in my shadow, I didn't care, I just secured it to the panels themselves. $40 in crap speakers and a normal deck actually sounded nice, like I had a small sub.

Me too... I used that real thin MDF or whatever (The brown stuff like on the backs of old speaker cabinets) but there isn't much room between the mounting layer and the outer skin/quarter panel. My Alpines' magnets nearly touch the quarter. 6x9's
You have to tuck them back far enough to replace the panels. Space is very limited. But 6 inchers would be easier.

sounds ghetto but i was actually able to get one bolt in on the bracket that is already in there and zip tied the other end to an existing hole. i can try to get pics later. sounds ghetto but it works.
