Default 95 EX Wobble

Not really too knowledgeable in the suspension field. Is speed wobble just everything having to do with alignment? I've already ruled out it being my engine vibrating. My car starts to wobble after I get it past 60mph, and it started doing this after I left it on jack stands for two days while changing my timing belt. (Yes, I had jack stands on both sides with the tires off). Would like to know so I don't pay for an alignment adjustment and have the problem persist. Thanks...

I have also noticed that the driver side front tire or suspension feels like it's all off, feels like I'm driving on an egg instead of a perfect cricle. It's not crazy, but you can feel the up down and vibrations

Could be bad tires. But then thats generally at low speed.

balancing affects high speeds more than lower speeds

as the angular acceleration of the unbalanced part of the wheel speeds up the force that this part exerts on the entire wheel increases

F = ma; so as the acceleration increases then the force does also

The steering wheel wobbles, the body wobbles, it's all a mess. My tires are basically new and air pressure is perfect in each of them.

Did you recently have any studs replaced?

i have the same problem, it feels unpredictable...how are your lca bushings? both of mine are shot so that's what i'm thinking is causing the problem other than that an alignment.

get ur tires balanced...

Take it up the road, if it's still doing its **** a 4 wheel alignment should be all u need...

That really does sound like the problem...but do the balancing first because that's most likely the problem and it's hella cheaer compared to 4 wheel alignments..

the vibration (wobble) can be caused by a couple of things.
1. motor mount can cause a vibration especially passing a certain speed.
2. a bubble or flat spot on your tires.
3. tires that are off balance.
4. suspension components that are bad, like bushings, struts, etc.
5. alignment if it is way off.

i highly doubt your alignment is off due to having it up in the air. when i did my swap i had mine up in the air for a week while waiting for my auto to manual mount to come in from cali. i would double check the motor mount you removed to work on the timing belt, then check the tires and so on. you want to find the source of the problem before paying for an alignment and then you still have the problem.

Well, I don't think it's my engine, because I did let the car coast at 80mph and the engine sat at 500 RPM's and the car was still shaking. I just don't know why it started doing this after I did my timing belt, no problem prior. I'll go back and inspect the damn thing, haha........uhhg

Thanks again dudes

Now my front suspension just feels like it's floating. Almost like I'm just sitting on the axle with no nuts or bolts and the wobbling is getting worse everytime I drive it

This sucks

I know this sounds simple but one of the steel belts may have failed, or shifted inside your tire. I'd put it up on jack stands and spin the tires.

Ok, well what do I look for exactly? I've been looking at all the suspension boots the whole time, my car is on stands right now

Well I took the Civic to Les Schwab today and I asked for a front suspension and axle inspection, they said everything looks perfect but my tires were pumped at 50 PSI......and I'm never letting my stupid friends touch my car when I'm not around again
