95 EX will push start but runs horrible...
I'm pretty sure my engine has finally kicked the bucket but since the car is 600 miles from me (was going on a trip to Indiana), I would like to get some general ideas as to what could be wrong with it to see if it will be worth paying to transport it back home.
During the trip I knew the car had an oil leak so I checked it every 200 miles (it usually lost 1 quart per 2 weeks). 500 miles into the trip I stopped to get gas and the car began running very rough. It sounded and felt like it was only running on 3 cylinders. I had to keep my foot on the gas so that the car would not cut off on me when I stopped. When you shift the car to nuetral the rpms will go to 0 on the guage then float between 300 and 100 which is far below the usual 800 and the car continuosly tries to cut off.
Once I found a safe place I stopped and the car cut off. I tried to crank it and nothing happened. There were no clicks and the engine would not turn over at all. I was able to push start it but the engine ran just as badly so I cut it back off. I checked the oil and it was low (barely on the dipstick) so I put a quart in it and tried again. Long story short the car is still running very badly and will only crank if push started.
Since I was so far from home I made a run for Indiana and the car made it without giving me any trouble while I was at speed but it still tried to cut off every time I shifted to nuetral or tried to stop the car (unless I kept my foot on the throttle).
Any help with this would be appreciated and if any other information is needed I will answer to the best of my knowledge.
Oh, and the run for the last 100 miles was at night and the car did not die even with the headlights on. I also was able to close the roof and windows the car cut off in Indiana (power roof and doors) if any of that matters.

Re: 95 EX will push start but runs horrible...
Alright, I'll get everything together to do the tests. Will the engine fail to turn over at all due to low/no compression? I was under the impression that the engine would still try to turn over but it would not start. Someone told me that low oil could mess up the gear for the distributor on older engines but they didn't know if honda engines had the same design. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?
