95 Ex Coupe Remove Wing/Spoiler
Hey, so I have a 95 ex coupe and I think it would look better without the oem spoiler. If I remove it, what can I do about the holes that would be left in my trunk lid?

Would a "proper" repair be to buy a new trunk lid? I don't think I'm gonna have the money for that anytime soon.

A proper repair would consist of you welding the holes shut then grinding the welds down then using bondo to smooth it out then primer then paint

Re: 95 Ex Coupe Remove Wing/Spoiler
So I found someone on craigslist who has a primered coupe trunklid he would be willing to trade for my trunklid & spoiler. What would be the cheapest way to paint it so it looks somewhat good? I'm talking like $20 max

Bondo won't lasts unless you weld plates under the holes before you fill them but if your going to go that far just weld the holes shut and grind it flat and just do a glaze coat of bondo. I would personally check out some junkyards and see if you can find a black coupe and just get a color matched lid.

Read the post above yours. I don't have money to buy one so I'm gonna trade, just need some advice on how to paint it.

"Cheap," "paint," and "look good" don't go together in the same sentence - at least not without the word "doesn't."
FWIW, while '96-00 coupes appear better wingless, the '93-95 coupes look rather cheesy with a bare trunk lid. I'd leave it on there.
Even if you don't like it, the wing is still going to look better than a half-assed paint job on a wingless trunk lid . . .

I don't know if it makes any difference but my car's black so I would think it would be pretty easy to match the paint. Also, I think it looks a lot cleaner w/o the wing

A replacement trunk doesn't need to cost a lot of money either. I bought mine for $50 and am trying to sell it for the same.
Just look around and you might find an okay deal. It's not like it's something that NEEDS to be fixed.

Yeah that's true but I would think that even most of the ones I would buy would still need to be painted. This is already primered, but I don't know if it would still be too hard to get it to match the rest of my car (black).

A friend of mine had a 5G Civic sedan that ended up with a damaged trunk. She was very lucky to find a friend who was willing to give her a replacement trunk for free. Problem was, the trunk was a totally different color from her car. Being a poor high school student didn't help the situation.
The solution (at least temporarily) was to plaster the thing with stickers. She icked a local business and over time covered the thing.
Since yours is black if it really bothers you you could just spray paint it balck until you can afford to paint it.
Or you could buy it, save up for paint, paint it and then mount it. That's what I'd do.

If I were to get color matched paint from Schuck's, and spray paint it (since its already primered), how close do you think I could get it to match?

It wouldn't look right.
I mean if you NEED to put it on (like my friend did - I could see into the trunk when it was closed) then put it on and just spray it universal black. Don't try to make it match.
If you try to make it match yourself it's going to come out bad.
Wait until you can get it painted. Maybe get it painted with other body parts you would like later on.

Re: 95 Ex Coupe Remove Wing/Spoiler
Thanks for all the help man. I think I might just call a local junkyard that the website you posted earlier says has a 92-95 black coupe trunk and see if they would be interested in trading (even though that's probably highly unlikely). Either way it would be a good deal for them because they're basically getting an oem spoiler for free

FWIW, I sell trunk lids for the same price whether they have a spoiler or not.
