95 EX coupe with d16y8 swap - Inspection issues?
I just picked up a 1995 civic ex coupe that I knew had a bad head. I popped the hood to realize it has a d16y8. I could be wrong but shouldn't it be a d16z6? Before I put the money into this thing what do I need to check to make sure it will even pass inspection? I know 96 is when it went to obd2 so yea

Yes, the original motor should be a z6. What state are you in? And yes, the y8 came in the later 0bd2 cars.

Check state laws on emissions testing and junk. Does it have any CEL? Does it have a cat converter?

I don't think it was raced it has 275k miles on the body so I'm guessing the original motor went boom and they just put this one in.
