95 del sol. Tie rod ends? take a look
I was doing my oil and trans fluid change, and while I was there I noticed this.
Are these the tie rod ends? if so, do I need to replace the whole tie rod end? or just the tie rod end boot? both sides are the same.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

if the boot was exposed for a long time and the grease inside, or what little is left, is very dirty, your entire tie rod may likely be bad, and may need replacement other than new boot

Its simple. You need two wrenches. One to hold the jam nut and one to turn the tie rod end.
Also you might need a tie rod end puller. Get the one labeled 'compact car' Makes it easy. Autozone VVVV

The threaded shaft is what presses on the tie rod stud. I couldnt find a picture in use. The little tabs hook onto the knuckle. In that picture the tool would be used upside down.
here is is. This is upside down compared to our cars.

^ ohh i see, I use it upside down and then use the wrench to press it onto the stud.
Should I go OEM for the tie rod, some performance brand, or just plain old autozone?

Go oem or moog. There is TONS of cheap garbage out there, and if you plan on keeping the car for more than a few days ( exagerating ) I would go with descent ones.
Years ago I went with ebay special , they were half the price of the moog/honda equivalents. Well after a few months they were wrecked again.
Installed oem and after 3 years they are great.

if the boot is junk chances are it lost alot of grease .so its probally wore out . if it was me id just pull both tie rods out and change em inner and outer, looking less then $100 for both sides.. just remmeber about how many turns u do to take em out and put them back in... easy as hell to do and then just go get a front end alignment($65) and u wont need that goofy *** tool, just 2 wrenches and maybe a pipe wrench

You can just whack the stud on the tie rod end upwards and it should pop. Or with the tool, tighten it up pretty tight, and then whack the tie rod with a hammer close to the joint. The tool is better especially if you're reusing the tie rods, but not required...

Back again with one more question, should I replace the inner tie rods as well. How can I check to see if they need replacement?

just replace em both they probally both need new ones, factor in how bad the ends look and how many miles are on the car, chances are if the ends look that bad both need to be changed, make sure u get an alignment when ur done.

I am trying to get moogs as well for the inners, but the inner tie rods are $75 each in advanced autoparts. Any place, I can buy them cheaper?

how can I check if my inner tie rods need replacement? Visually, they look fine. The only problem is the one on the outers, as seen in the pictures above. The weird thing is my car drives fine, no vibrations, except I feel I need an alignment.
