Hi, I just got a 95' Del Sol and it is a really fun car to drive and everything works perfect on the car...except for one thing....when I start out fast in 1st gear...or when I hit a
small speed bump...a clunking noise comes from behind the drivers seat. The noise sound like it is coming from the rear window well...sounds like the something it hitting
the body of the car and is located in the window well of the rear power window. The noise just clunks once or twice as if a metal bar is not supported correctly. The dealer said it is several hundred dollars to get into it. I checked the trunk and everything else I could think of but nothing I do seems to work. Has anyone else had this problem? You can remove the rear window piece by yourself and figure out whats knocking back there...justs takes some time and if you got the big blue manual, it helps too...

Thanks for the info...and I might get brave and try what you suggest. You mentioned the big blue book? Is this the auth. service manual? Do I have to buy this manual at the dealers?
The only manual I have is a copy of the Chilton's guide to the Del Sol...and it is a bit weak....(came with the car)...

big clunk from the rear when u hit a bump sounds more like a suspension issue. maybe a strut, check all the bolts in ur trunk where the top of ur strut is.

have ya fixed ya problem yet... if ya havent, have ya tried your anti-roll bar drop links??? had this problem b4, it drove me crazy. lol

Hi, It's been too cold where I live to tackle this problem...but it is starting to warm
up so I will renew my effort soon..... can you tell me more about the "anti-roll bar drop links"...this might be the problem and then...how do I solve it? The dealer wants 300.00 to fix the problem.....or to try and fix the problem. I bought a cheap parts/maintenance manual but it is not the real deal...so maybe I have to buy something else? Not really sure but am happy to do the work if I knew what to do. Many thanks in advance for any clues :-)
