95 Civic short on coolant lines?
 

Anyone know why there would be an electrical current going through my coolant lines that feed the turbo? They are stainless steel lines and for some reason they keep shorting out my car when they come in contact with the body.

It's been fine for a year and a half, so I don't know why all of the sudden it would do that. I have almost the exact same turbo setup on my corolla, and no problems there.

is it so hard to trace them and see if a power wire got rubbed free of its shielding or wrapping?

something must have gotten too hot dude.

take a look around the engine bay. its not like it magically appeared

well the main power wire off the alternator would be running right by where your oil feed line would be. i would start by checking that area..

I've been scouring all the engine and transmission grounds but I haven't found anything worked out or exposed. :(

well don't look at the grounds since the car is a ground source looking at your grounds won't help. look at power sources. under the intake manifold (alt wire, other wires that carry 12v/5v signals)

You only need to look at one spot, the metal hose.

if nothing is touching it, it shouldnt be the cause of your issue

worst case scenario, you remove the hose, go to the aprts store, find a vacuum or coolant hose big enough to go over it, and yuo have a rubber insulated jacket! lol
