95 civic LX engine swap or turbo
I have a 95 CIVIC LX (automatic) and it just has a lil more than 147,000 miles on it. I have gotten a lotta talk about how i could improve the performance of the engine. Its a D15B7 and i either wanted to swap it for any d16 with V-TECH or just add some turbo and modify the engine like it was a newer engine. Im mainly going for the horsepower. It seems a lil sluggish at times and the engine looks a lil old. Im a newbie to this..but ive done some research enough to know what might be good for this car. What would be the best option here? Money is funny...so i gotta make it good.

Re: 95 civic LX engine swap or turbo (hopsta)
you probably aren't gonna get any more answers because this is a subject you can easily search on this site. But since I was once in the same boat as you Ill try and help you out. First things first, Do NOT spend a dime on the d15b7. You said you are going for high hp numbers, it will not do the job. Next option is to do a swap. A d16(vtec) or d15b(JDM vtec) are great bang for the buck. You can find these for about $500. They are decent platforms to work with for say something like a turbo if you have a small budget. If you have a bigger budget, then you could go with a b16, b18, or an H. Any of these are highly recommended if you want hugh hp numbers.
To give you an idea: stock d16 turbo=stock b18
Now do some research and have fun learning about it
