95 civic LX cruise control problem
My cruise control doesn't work at all. Still trying to diagnose it. 95 Civic LX, automatic.
Cruise control light turns on but does not engage when I press SET. I am suspecting an electrical problem maybe, but cannot find the fuse for the cruise control.
I tried to see the brake switch today, couldn't check thoroughly, so I'll try again after work.
I was watching Eric the car guy on youtube, and I'm going to check for a vaccum leak somewhere.
I will open the cruide control modulator cover to see if theres a problem with the cable.
So, fuses, vaccum leak, cable check is what I'll try.
If anybody had this same problem or has any ideas, please post.
Thanks.

Re: 95 civic LX cruise control problem
To my knowledge, the CC for your car does not have a vacuum assist, so you can probably scratch that idea off your list.
If the car has a manual transmission, there's a CC switch on both the brake and clutch pedal.
The CC switch on the brake pedal is for both the brake lights and CC. The CC switch on the clutch pedal is the lower one of the two switches.

My car should only have the brake switch. It's auto transmission.
It is true, I do not see anything on the Cruise Control that could be affected by vaccum.
Never had check engine light turn on.
I did find the accelerator cable a little loose so I tensed it a little.
Had a problem 2 years ago where the brake light stayed on. So i made a similar shape with epoxy putty so it would engage the switch. Worked perfect after that( and cruise sontrol worked fine).
I am troubleshooting the fuses right now.
I will post the solution to my problem as soon as I solve it.

Re: 95 civic LX cruise control problem
Your brake pedal switch actually consists of two separate switches - one for the brake lights and one for CC. Use a multimeter to test whether the CC part of the switch is broken.

Re: 95 civic LX cruise control problem
There's a discrepancy between the circuit diagram and the switch continuity test diagram. Based on the circuit diagram, there should be continuity between C & D with pedal released and continuity between A & B with pedal pushed.
