Default 95 civic lx

hi guys. i have a 1995 civic lx in which i lately installed a rev counter/speedo unit
the original cluster for the lx did not have a rev counter, so i swapped my speedo unit between the 2 clusters
now i was wondering if i could install the abs module and if it is actually even worth trying
it is just a spare vehicle really. i use my 2000 civic for daily activities
let me know if you can think of anything else i may attempt on my own
thanks

Why do you need abs? You know how much work it involves?
not worth it imo.

hi there thanks for the reply
i guess i'll let the abs thing slide then
anyway can you advise me on another issue which i am currently facing now
originally the car sits on 13" and i have a set of 17" alloys
will it be too much stress on the bearings if i put them on?
i have already 'put them on' just to see how they would look, and they do look awesome on it
i am just concerned about my bearings if i am to drive with them during let's say a summer
thanks again for any advice

That i cant help you with. I dont know anything about wheels and off set.. best to post it in the wheels and suspension forum.
as long as you get the correct offset for your car, you will be set. Personally i think 17s look too big for civic. 15 or 16 would look better, imo. But thats just me.

I would say you are much better off with some factory Honda/Acura 15" wheels. Sell your 17's and pick up a set of "LS Mesh" or "GSR Blades" etc...
17's are unnecessarily big for an EG civic. Way too heavy, rubbing issues, raising center of gravity, speedometer error etc. Definitely not worth the "cool" look.

thanks guys
i too think that the 17's are a bit too much for the eg. they do look great on it though
i'm definitely looking into some 15's as i type
if i don't get any, well just too bad
i'll keep using my 13's and probably make a set of 14's snow, just in case
thanks again for your advice.
i really appreciate them

Not worth trouble at all for abs. Also I have an all original 95 civic lx w/ an automatic and it has a rev counter. The lx should have come with one.

hi there
The 1995 Canadian civic lx does not come fitted with the rev counter
I've read the US version has
But anyway I'm glad I did the conversion. I just put white LED's to light up the whole unit
