??? If you're rebuilding the internals then it's doesn't matter. Get a short block as cheap as you can find one

what about axles, shift linkage? would he still use the 99-2000 si or will the stock ones work?

You could buy a full B18 LS swap for around $1K. Then boost it and run 12 psi all day on stock everything. It's the bottom of the barrel cheapest bang for buck power for an eg.

I just don't like it because it's ignorance being passed on to the next unsuspecting person.

OK sry haven't been on in a while but why would you boost a car with stock internals... The compression would be off bad and I dont think it would even work. It also seems pointless running a turbo on stock internals no real power then so you would be robbing yourself.

You obviously know nothing about what you're talking about. Many people are boosting on stock internals, myself included, and making pretty decent power.

How are you getting decent power with stock internals...? And what is decent power to you?

About 200hp. Pretty decent for daily street driving. And if you don't think that is decent for a Civic then you really don't know what you're talking about.

200hp at the crank or to the wheels and its not bad I guess just not to sure about boosting on stock internals. If this is the case why don't I just fix the D16 that I have and run it boosted until it gives out then drop in the B18...

Why are you planning on it failing? That makes no sense to build it up to destroy it later. I'm running stock internals for the better part of 3 years now. No issues past a blown PCV valve.
