95 civic ex/jdm b16a swap/ctr trans - where do I set the 2 step on chipped ECU?
ok guys i have a stupid question i have a 95 civic ex with a jdm b16a and ctr trans i am ordering a chipped ecu to get a little bit more out of my car. well the question is where would be a good place for 2 step to be set. my vtec hits at 4k. i dont want to set it to low or to high. any recomendation as to where i should have it set. where does everyone have theirs set at.

Re: 2step question
what does your post mean this is whats wrong with tuners. yes i could go get tuned but whats the point on a stock b16a. intake and exhaust thats not going to bring much out of my car to the point i need to spend so much money on a tune and s300. i am just looking for a little better launch hence why im looking into a chipped ecu and 2 step.

Re: 2step question
you want it cheap and now. you dont want to put in the time, money, and effort into finding what works best and pull every little bit out of your setup. you said it yourself, why do you need a modified ecu with bolt on's? what happens when you need to raise or lower the 2 step depending on conditions? you're SOL. i can raise or lower my 2 step wherever i want because i have a programmable EMS.
put that money elsewhere.

Spend the money on the s300 and get it tuned. to it right the first time. or you'll regret it later. think about it this way if you decide to put more money in to the call later youll already have a good tuning software. Save you money and buy the s300

An agressive tune on a 100% bone stock B16A would probably make more power then i/h/e,
expecially with an unknown programmed chip.

another option. the moates demonboard that uses neptune rtp as the software. a tad bit cheaper. they argue they have better features at a cheaper cost than the s300. the way i see it, the big boys get the s300's, ive done my research, and im getting the demonboard and i feel ill be content with it for the time being.
my solution to your dilemma:
buy the demonboard, put a basemap on it
possible invest time/money into tuning it properly
key word is properly here.
ultimately your gonna do what you wanna do, i have a spoon chip you can buy from me if you want. heck ill just throw it in a bag and you pay me shipping. if your not gonna do any of this i would just keep her as she is and steady as she goes.

I feel that whatever the OEM vtec engagement is set at is best for the motor and performance, honda puts alot of time and research into that, they set it that way for a reason.

RT, we're talking about launch control, not vtec cross.
OP, if you feel the need for launch control, but aren't actually racing, you just need to learn how to drive. There is WAY too much involved for us to tell you what the best setting would be for your car.
