Default 95 Civic Engine Problems

Hi new to the site, made strictly to get an opinion from an expert on honda/civics. I have a 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe with the 1.5 D15B7 motor. The previous owner seems to have blown the bottom end and has replaced it with a bottom end from a 1990 Honda Civic (Engine is a 1.6L D16A6 Original top end is a PM9-5). It's one of those two enging numbers, cars not on my property at the moment to check which one. I need to know if and what complications this poses, and what I need to convert or adjust to the original 1.5 top end of the motor. I already know the timing is a tad different and it uses a belt with 107 cogs instead of the original 106. Are there any other things I should know about? Can someone let me know on any major timing complications? Anything of the like that I'd need to know. Thank you for your help. You can also email me at juggyj454@yahoo.com.

why are you wanting to change it? the d16a6 motor is a vtec motor(btw the head code for the d16a6 is pm3) and the d15b7 isnt, as far as i know it shouldnt make any issues, but if you were wanting vtec it would need to be the other way around, d16 head and d15 block, but i dont understand why your asking this, if you dont want it to have the d16 block then just swap it with a d15 or swap the whole motor since single cams are dirt cheap

I bought the car for a steal. but we needed to know if there would be any complications we should know about between the 1990 block and the 95 head before we put the timing equip back on.

OK well My idle is surging between 1250-1750 rpms. Don't know the problem. Blocked off (bypassed or whatever) the IACV and it seemed to return to normal but the check engine light still came on sending into "limp mode" i guess. Either way I'm tired of it and selling it for 2500 O.B.O. contact me at 352-509-1410. My location is ocala florida and here's my craigslist add with a better description and pictures. http://ocala.craigslist.org/cto/1761101772.html
