Default 95 Civic DX - How swap in cluster with a tach?

Hello H-T!

I bought a 1995 Civic DX today.
I was wondering if there was a way to swap the gauges, this one doesn't have a rpm gauge. If I swap the gauges, how would I incorporate the rpm's?

step1. purchase auto or 5 speed CLUSTER which ever applies to you
step2. take out your old one
step3. plug in
step4. re-assemble
step5. have fun!

felt like being a smart ***. its plug and play.

wasn't sure if the rpm's would work, seeing as there is no gauge. Thought i'd have to splice wires or something. So, even though i dont have rpms on my stock cluster, they'd show up if i change it?

You'll need a 5 speed/auto cluster but to retain your mileage you will need to pull both clusters apart and swap the odometers.

and in all honesty it took me all of 5mins to remove the 3 screws, pop thetabs on the lens and swap.

BTW the bezels are mildly different if you and swapping between a car with airbags and a car without which you will also need to swap over the middle plug from the original cluster to the new one along with your speedo/odometer, airbags=yellow plug and that little SRS light, non airbag=green plug and no SRS light but again its really simple as long as you are at least slightly mechanically inclined
