What head is currently installed?

What information do you need?

You can probably fix the VTEC solenoid oil leak if you HondaBond seal both gaskets - that's what I did.

And I don't believe you need to swap to a Z6 head and distributor. The P28 ECU will run the Y8 engine, but you may or may not need to get a Y8 basemap chip. The swap gurus should be able to answer this question.

Why do you think that you won't be able to make VTEC work for the Y8 engine?

What's easier - fixing the VTEC solenoid oil leak with HondaBond or replacing the head?

I don't remember reading this^. Links? Maybe somebody else can answer this question. My guess is that if there's any difference, it's minimal or insignificant.

i think i might have read it wrong i read that the z6 has better high end and the y8 has better low end but i might just buy another y8 head or try replacing the gaskets again and try the hondabond

i dont think there is enough of a difference between the y8 and z6 thats worth doing all that.

supposedly the factory intake is better on the y8 and the factory header is better on the y8

supposedly the z6 head flows better than the y8 ive heard that as well.

but in the end you will be disappointed in the work required to change to a z6 head for something so minimal.

oh ok thanks man i think i need new piston rings as well because its got some low end torque but when im at a higher rpm you can smell the oil burning and it sounds like its struggling or something i know its got a lot of miles on it but maybe when i get vtec hook up it will run better
