if you just want a little boost, oem internals will be fine with a good tune. if you want a lot of boost then go forged rods & pistons. Your block will need to be notched to clear the pistons. Either route you go, use ARP head studs. The most important thing to keep it from blowing up is a good tune, stay away from VAFC ans FMU's... get a P28 chipped w/ CROME

my recommendation,

CP or weisco pistons, a little lower compression. Stock is 9.4 or something. drop down to 9.0

Eagle rods (notch the block)

ACL or OEM bearings

a block guard or sleaves isnt needed unless you are pushing high psi and shooting for 400+

and with head work, a pnp job isnt really needed unless your tryin for 400whp. If you dont rev past 7200 then the oem head is fine.

the Zex cam seams to be a favorite in the d-series.

I'm goin to run ferrea valves, springs and retainers.

and remember, tuning is key to a properly runnin motor.

I have VFAC2 in my car with an auto p28 ECU and it works good, I will be doing a trans swap. the VFCA2 did not come with a diagram for my ECU but it works u just got to wing it, keep Vtec at 4800 to 5200 any lower and u will dog the motor. This is one odf the first mods I did to my car and the first thing I did to the motor.

i have a set of ross pistons for D16z6 single cam. 9:1 compression, good for turbo. you can call ross pistons tech line for confirmation. I was planning on putting them on ebay. any questions let me know.
