95 Civic cranks but won't start
Thanks in advance for any answers. I've searched and searched the past few days.
95 civic hatch-d15b7 all stock.
Has fuel at fuel filter, and it's reaching the spark plugs.
Has spark and I checked with a spark plug tester.
Turn key to on(ii) position hear fuel pump hum and cel goes away after two seconds which I hear both of these mean working main relay.
Battery voltage is good, when checking spark plugs for spark they seemed really old and crusty. I just bought the car and judging by the looks I wouldn't be surprised if they were factory lol.
Here's the weird part, after checking everything and putting it back together. I tried jump starting a few more times. I read about a clear flood mode on here and held the throttle down...it speeds up and sounds as if it may be doing something close to cranking. Each time it sounds closer. Just gave it one last go with what battery I had left and it almost started. What exactly would cause this??
SHORT VERSION---- turns over but no start, holding throttle sounds like it just might start. Going to buy plugs and wires in the am and try.

I plan on replacing them in the morning. The car ran and the next day it didn't. Maybe a dumb question but is it common for all of them to stop working regardless of condition?

Check the mechanical timing, and compression test the cylinders.
Is spark bright white at all 4 plugs?

The spark was white and blue but maybe I'm blind but it seemed to have some orange in it too. I also checked spark off the coil and it was almost all orange. I plan on checking mechanical timing and testing the distributor more if the plugs don't work. I have a multimeter and test light.

New spark plugs held throttle it cranked finally after a few tries. Idles although when coming to a stop and pressing the clutch it wants to die, but after tapping the gas it idles just fine. Cranks back up fine too thanks every body I'm hoping more maintenance parts fixes the coming to a stop issue.
