Post 95 civic coupe - need ideas to make more power

so im new to the thread, and web page but i finally fufilled my dream of getting a honda civic coupe even though its a 95 im still willing to do some work on it.
now im not a mechanic but im always a really great learner and have done alot of electrical work to my old car. but i just dont know what to start getting for the mechanical area of the car. i know i want an intake, headers, suspensioin, and possible an engine swap down the road if all goes well. ive done qite a bit of research but was just looking for suggestions on what to look for and what would be a better fit.

if you're going to do an engine swap I'd start with that. Otherwise you'll be purchasing the same things twice. Maybe start with a mini me swap

well i just looked up the specs, cause i was originally told a 98 but got there and found out it was a 95. the engiine is horrible, and was solely built for economy. 40 mpg is pretty spectacular for a 95 but not what im looking for, i was looking at a b16a2 but what do you mean by a mini swap?

A mini me would be putting a vtec head on a non vtec block. Check what engine is in your car currently to see if it is even stock.

Yep, you have a lot more to learn. You can boost ANYTHING, and boost is the only way you're going to make real, reliable power without putting a mortgage on your house. I/H/E does nothing but move your powerband around and make you "sound" fast.

Swap all you want, it'll still be slow without boost, or SERIOUS motor work.

Yea, I have a lot of catching up to do as far as learning About boost and finding a proper place to go and get a dyno test and tune, but if not a b16 what would you suggest?

Again, do the needed reading and then return with more specific questions.
