NOTE: i live in california and i take my hatch to the modesto college ref.

SETUP:
94 obd1 LS motor(B18b1)
2000 Si tranny
P75 ECU(not chipped)

ok so i bought the hatch with a 94 obd1 B18B1 motor in it and i had to smog it to register it and i didnt want to do a ghetto smog because in case i got stopped and got my hood popped i dont want to get a ticket, i rather pay the 60 for ref and get it over with. So ive taken it two times and neither of two has it passed the smog part. Inspection passed fine and dandy, no problem. But my smog was bad, the first time i took it in how i bought it, no tune up nothing and my smog readings where the following:

CO2= 12.1(15mph) and 12.0(25mph)
O2= 3.8(15mph) and 2.9(25mph)
HC= 30(15mph) and 50(25mph)
CO= .03(15mph) and 1.27(25mph)
NO= 1681(15mph) and 122(25mph)

so i went back home, did a full tune up(oil, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, chagned the cat because the one it had was burned up, i replaced it with a used one but its in good condition, i replaced the O2 sensor with a brand new one(bosch) and i also did seafoam on it, which i think is what F-d it up.... i went back and tried again, and again failed it, this time even worse. Heres the readings:

CO2= 13.6(15mph) and 12.9(25mph)
O2= 1.9(15mph) and 1.4(25mph)
HC= 43(15mph) and 90(25mph)
CO= .05(15mph) and 1.70(25mph)
NO= 1905(15mph) and 1504(25mph)

expletive!! they drastically went up!

Ok so the guy was puzzled and really couldnt tell me anything but to try to get an OEM o2 sensor and a cat for an integra LS.

so now my question is: what the hell do i do??? i already bought the cat and the o2 sensor, but i am not really confident that will make a hugge change in the emissions...i also noted the other day as i took a spark plug out that the thread and below was dipped in oil... piston rings?? is that why the emissions were worse? my guess if it is the piston rings, they messed up with the seafoam because it removed the carbon build up which kinda sealed them? another guess is because of the b16 tranny causing it to rev higher?? any help?? suggestions??

If you're getting oil on your spark plugs that's not too good. Your rings may be bad which is causing the bad emmission. The fuel may not be burned correctly.

My numbers were bad, and I had small traces of oil on my spark plugs. I ended up changing the cat and O2 sensor. I had the wiring checked, and had to redo the wiring.

I just made sure the cat was super hot when I got tested. I failed the 1st time by just a little. The tech was cool enough to run the car for a little bit then retested it and is just got by.

Good luck on passing. I know what kind of headache it could be, but it feels good knowing my swap is legit and clean.
