Re: Eg single into ek
You dont need to change the injectors. Are you using the OBD2 harness? The alternator should also be fine. I never heard of either of these things changing between OBD 1 and OBD 2. Considering that I have a OBD1 ECU setup in an OBD2 car and changed neither thing. And the crank sensor will plug right in (atleast it should), the one you will have an issue with (if your running an OBD2 ECU) is the knock sensor. As the OBD1 blocks dont even have a space for them.

will the car start without the knock sensor ??

obd2 harness will NOT plug into a obd1 alternator, you need to swap out the injectors and alternator. he wants a clean swap not halfa**ed

Re: Eg single into ek
if you run the obd2 ecu you'll have a knock code and crankshaft fluctuation code. you can do a bypass for the ckf but their is no good way around the knock sensor issue. aside from having the ecu chipped, tuned, and knock disabled. but that's definitely overkill. this is why i just bought a jumper harness and ran an obd1 ecu in my ek.

wires are the same but plugs are different. in some cases you can just use the obd2 dizzy on the originally obd1 engine. but it depends on what engine you are swapping in and what you are swapping out? also if you have an obd2b 99-00 vehicle then you will need to run the tach lead wire from the dizzy to the service connector port at the driverside corner where the firewall and fender meet.

i have an 94 single cam non v going into the ek
so the obd1 motor needs to have
obd2 altenator
obd2 dizzy
obd2 injectors
obd2 ecu
using an obd2 harness
and it will run correct ?? i dont care about check engine light at all it can be on
all it wants i dont care as long as i know my car is fine and runs

Re: Eg single into ek
ok so you would have had a d16y7 and i presume you have a d15b7 to drop in. both non-vtec so no issue there
however, you absolutely have to do the ckf bypass. i don't believe it will run at all if you don't.
now with no knock sensor hooked up i know you will get a code, but i'm not sure exactly how it will affect driveability.
