Default 94 honda del sol stranded on freeway

my son is on the cell phone right now, stranded on a freeway in Missouri. He is on an on ramp and the car enginge just quit. No catastrophic failure, no thrown rod,\ it quit responding, he pulled off and it will not sstart again...HELP

Check the engine grounds before you do anything. See if there is power to anything when the key is turned on, and look at the "check engine light" upon turning the key on to see that it turns back off in a couple of seconds.

blinker, windows etc work when he turns the key.. check enging light turns off again...

Ok I know this might be an obvious thing to check but I just wanted to make sure.... did he run out of gas? Happened to me before in a friends car and I was like WTF happened.... till I looked at the gas gauge... lol

can he confirm that the belt is turning? if not then he shouldn't be trying to turn it over at all.

I had something like this happen after a very tight u-turn. The engine just cut out and it wouldn't start but I had all other electrical. I just had to wait it out after pushing the car out of the traffic way. It did it once again later but I didn't have to wait as long. I would be interested in knowing if he or someone finds the root cause.

I think mine is electrical as the aux lights don't work and the cruise cuts out after about thirty minutes of being 'on'.
