'94 hb is leaking
Yesterday is drove in some heavy rain for about an hour and a half. Today I was putting some stuff in the back and noticed that the back carpet and cardboard spare cover (the piece right next the the spare, not the cargo cover) were wet (really soaked). I'm pretty sure that the hatch and tailgate aren't leaking. Is there anywhere else that the water could be getting in from? When I picked up the carpet to look at the spare tire area I noticed that most of the water was collected on the passenger side. Just looking for some thoughts, help, or similar experiences. Thanks.

Re: '94 hb is leaking (fakemike)
I'll have to check those two problem areas tomorrow.
Glad I'm not the only one. And you right, mine has only done it one other time. Not a big deal, but I thought I would ask.
Any more thoughts? Thanks.

Here's what I'm talking about. Any other suggestions? These were taken today and I haven't been in the rain since wed. night. Must be draining from somewhere. I'll check the seals near the shocks.
Thanks again.

Re: '94 hb is leaking (DxHatchback)
My 1995 hatch had the same thing happening on the passenger's side tail light area. I checked the grommet and it was not the problem. The problem was the tail light housing was leaking. During heavy rains the water would work its way inside the housing and come out the vent holes right into the hatch area.
At first I used a sealant to reseal around the housing/lens edges and it worked for a time. After it started leaking again, I broke down and bought a new housing from majestic.
At least that is what happened in my case.

Yeah I'm having the same problems... some told me to get some weather sealent and use that on the back of the foam taillight pad and it should make it water tight, meaning not water ever coming in. I have not tried it, but honestly I think its worth a try. I'm tired of driving with a pond in the back of my car. It gets bad sometimes when I let it sit in during a whole week of rains.

Re: '94 hb is leaking (GQ Cowboy)
Thanks for your help guys. I guess I'll work on getting the plastic panel off the inside and check out the lights. I'll have to take a look at the top of the shock as well while I'm in there.
