Took all my tar out of my 93 civic hatch with a chisel, hammer, and Brillo soap pads. Weighed about 12 lbs.

there are 2 way.
1) get some dry ice and put it on the tar for a few seconds then hit it with a hammer and chisel.
2) use a heat gun and heat it up alot, then scrape it off.

I did it, it wasn't worth the time and mess in my opinion.

12 lbs. might not sound like much but 12 lbs. here, 10 lbs. there, 20 lbs. somewhere else, it all adds up in the long run.

i agree on the not wirth it aspect. if you were n.a. and looking for all you can get, ok maybe. but just make more power.

Every little reduction adds up, but if I had to do it again I wouldn't have, I would have just waited and bought a CX; too much time and work.
