94 dx 2 door civic wont shift into any gear when running
I bought a 94 civic dx a while ago and have had many problems since. My current problem is that just this morning, when i got in to go to work, after i pushed in the clutch it wouldnt shift into any gear, i cant even force it. If the car is off It will shift just fine, but now the clutch pedal sits on the floor, sometimes it will pop back up. It goes down far enough to engage the start switch, (or whatever it is that wont let the car start unless the clutch pedal is pressed) I have read a few other questions and it seems that flushing the clutch might fix it? I didnt know it was hydraulic. I really dont know anything about cars, but I work on all my own stuff if i can.
I was told when I bought the car that the previous owner had it re-geared for racing, I dont know if that is true or not but it does haul a lot of *** and I can go 65 in second and 100+in third, and as far as i can see all the engine/intake/exhauste, ect. is stock...dont know if that might have anything to do with it.
Any help would be extremely appreciatted, my chilton manual sucks *** and i wish I bought a haynes, but i am pretty mechanicly inclined, just inexperienced.
Please someone help me for the love of Honda!

doesnt really sound like your a mechanic if you dont know how to find a problem with your car. which you problem is easy to find out. check the o-ring on your clutch pedal fluid.

wow, i dont know very many people that would rip their clutch apart without getting some advice first...and no I am not new to hondas, ive had a few, but I have never had a problem with one, which is why I stick with them
anyway, i do appreciate what I have been told, regardless of the manor in which it was done...
so check the o-ring? I am having trouble following the clutch to the release arm from the fire-wall, in fact i cant even find the where the cable comes out of the firewall

if its a 94 then its hydro tranny. next to your brake reserve there is another reserve. this is for your clutch pedal. check if there is fluid, check to see if the o-ring is ripped and let us know.

yeah, its way low on fluid, i can see where the fluid enters the reserve...is it possible that over time it just dissapears after 13 years? or do you think there is a leak?
as far as the o-ring goes...i only opened the reserve cap, are you talking about the o-ring that goes around the seal there?
and thank you again

yes that o-ring on the cap. top off the fluid to where is shows max but dont over do it. you might have air in the system. does it do it all the time?

last night it was fine, so mabye a leak? ithe fluid level is right below where the clutch pedal line enters the reserve, so if so, i would guess that side?

nevermind what i said about what line entered where, i was looking at it wrong.
anyway, i filled it up with fluid, and bled the system, and i still have the problem. so im guessing slave or master, but which one? how do i check to see?

yo man i know what is wrong with your car. it happened to mine. either ur slave cylinder. or you master cylinder is leaking. check if you have fluid if you don't. put some in. and then go in your car and pump the clutch for like 5min. or until the pedal comes up. then drive it to a shop and have them look at it. that will do you alot of good.
