94 del sol vtec suspension question
Whats up everyone ,here it goes,I bought a camber kit, installed it and took it to the alignment shop the same day, when I picked up my car the car drove fine and straight but the steering wheel was tilted just a bit , having OCD that Hella bothered me so I took it back , the dude said my frame was probly bent cuz they did what the could an I needed to take it to a frame shop( I thought he was dumbass for using that answer) well four months later (last week) it started doing a loud thump noise when I did big slow turns or the steering wheel would go way out of place...well today at work I lifted my car and noticed the four bolts on top of the adjustable ball joint on my camber kit where completely loose and two about to fall off( saved me a huge accident since I was Gunna commute back home)... I pulled the camber it out all the way ( since the alignment tech said it was maxed out) and tightened them up, took it for a test drive, AND now the wheel is completely centered , drives like its fresh out of the alignment shop, hella smooth....so now I'm wondering if that dumbass didn't tighten my camber kit tight enough and it came out of place when they dropped it of the rack and I just fixed it myself or should I still take it back and tell em what's up incase my tires start wearing out..... Any suggestions would help thanks

They forgot to tighten the screws and blamed the hardware instead of double-checking their work.
Or maybe they tried to torque it down to spec and the bolts jumped a thread because it's a cheap eBay kit.
Either way they didn't do a good job investigating/explaining what was going on, I wouldn't take my car back to them.

Re: 94 del sol vtec suspension question
unless youre slammed you wasted money anyways.
hopefully you just bought it off ebay and not an ebay kit.
either way they are well known for the screws backing out not staying in place and in general being junk, specially the kind you have.
so either buy new ones if you really need them(quality), or go back to stock.

Yea I'm sure the fact that it's a cheap eBay has some to do with it , but the screws coming out the way they did has to be all on the fagg tech guy that didn't tighten them enough , but yea no pull to either side at all, it drives like a stock car..And nah it's not slammed its at about sport line , fender dont cover the tire . Crazy but yea no more going back to that guy

Re: 94 del sol vtec suspension question
my personal experience with ebay so far every single ebay part i owned FAILED...
ebay coilovers-loosened up and dropped all the way so one side was slammed, and tophats broke through.
2 ebay water pumps make noise when installed(right out the box)
ebay oil pump snapped 3 studs when tightened to OEM spec by the service manual
ebay LED lights burned out before i even had a chance to install them
ebay gasket set does not allign to headstuds so i had to punch it through.
rest of the gaskets were also off center, and some o rings did not fit( had to order OEM)
ebay fenders hood and bumper had almost half inch gap all around i had to file down the bumper to fit properly.
ebay headlights LED went out in halos about a year after
my friend bought a viper alarm from ebay turns out it was a defective batch that would not sync to the 2 way pager... 2 days spent troubleshooting and 200 dollars later...
theres more but i dont remember at the moment.
the fact that they got loose might be because they didnt want to strip the threads on ebay bolts so they didnt tighten them that much...
we used to turn down any ebay purchased alarms or other stuff because theres about 50/50 chance of it not working.
so customer pays the install fee, then turns out the junk is DOA, customer throws a fit and blames the installer for breaking his ebay junk leaves the shop and tells all his ebay buddies that the shop broke his crap...

Yea idk , I've bought a couple of camber kits for my cars as I get new ones with out emm and theyve all came out pretty good, I don't buy other stuff like gaskets or anything that's case sensitive when it comes to my engine or body parts... And I tightened them up all the way and nothing stripped , I've had the same type of kit on my other car and had no issues with it

Re: 94 del sol vtec suspension question
lol well i did get few gaskets to fit properly.
im not talking about brandname stuff bought on ebay. alot of legit stores sell on ebay as well.
i mean knockoffs from china and korea. like the Gmarc said you are playing a lotery.
but chances are relatively low of getting quality cheap stuff.
i only do it in emergency when i cant afford god parts lol but then end up replacing it anyway so...

Re: 94 del sol vtec suspension question
i wouldn't blame the shop for the loosening bolts. its ebay. even brand name movable ball joint camber kits are known for backing out bolts.
shoulda just stayed stock and you'd never of had this problem.
