94 del sol trunk release
I am now the proud owner of a 94 del sol 1.5. I don't know if it has a trunk release or not, but I can't find it if I do. Does anyone have a clue where it would be if there is one or not??
Thanks
Lisa
P.S., I need to change my user name

Re: 94 del sol trunk release (amy del sol)
Ok thanks. Its not there...it's such a pain in the a$$ to take the key out of the ignition and open the trunk, and then put the top in it (by the way, that's a pain in the a$$ just to lift off the car!).
Another ?... one of the release levers on my top is broken, I can still lock and unlock it, but it's hard because it's so short. Does anyone know how easy that is to replace??
Thanks again
Lisa

Re: 94 del sol trunk release (amy del sol)
Better luck finding it at the junk yard, Youd be better off ordering a new one, and be prepaired to spend some money, parts for the sol arent nearly as cheap as say a civic because its an odd body style and was only made for a few yrs so...... But like the post earlier said if its not there you dont have one, I do have one in my car but i use the key anyhow because i disabled mine do to the fact if i leave my top off at a store or something someone only has to reach in and pull the lever to open the trunk anyhow. So i just locked it and use the key everytime. The top does get lighter the more times you take if off tho lol, youll find easier ways to carry it and lift it into position

well, it sucks to be me, then. what a pain in the ***...I had a 92 eg dx that had one, you'd think they'd make one for the sol, too.

I bought my targa lever from my local Honda dealer 4 months ago, I paid 9.53ea. Super easy to replace.

Re: 94 del sol trunk release (DelSolSiR)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW and it'll probably work better than the stock one. My stock one is a piece of ****. Gotta pull it 2 sometimes 3 times before it'll stay open.

Re: 94 del sol trunk release (honda92egchick)
I thought they didnt have em cause then ppl could just reach in and get into the trunk when you left the top down, which would suck. Whenever I wanna put the top down, I open the trunk first, then open both doors and pull the top off. Its alot easier that way cause then you dont hafta get in the car and open all the windows and then get out an all that, and even if you did have a trunk release youd still have to get up and go back to put the top in and shut it.

You can lock the lever with your key from inside the car...

Yup, just like the rear compartments. Either way I still put my roof on if I know I'm going to be more than 20 minutes in a store or whereever
