Hi, i have a 94 del sol si ,and i recently had to get my car smogged but i had a check engine light.The problem was for a o2 sensor so i replaced it and the got rid of the check engine light so i proceeded to the smog station and failed due to CO% being to high. i was told that i should drive the car more before going back for another test. after i installed the new sensor i let the car idle for about twenty minutes then drove it about 30 miles before i went to get it smogged .If i drive the car more before getting the smog will it fix the problem or is there another issue ? basically i just want to know if the sensor needs time to get the levels back to normal , or did the guy at the smog place not know what he was talking about? Any help will be appreciated , thanks.
