94 Del Sol randomly stalls
Vehicle is my son's "learning" car. We know the car was involved in some sort of accident because it has a salvage title. As title states it randomly stalls. It hasn't done it while I have been driving the car, but stalls with my son.
The IAC was replaced.
New battery installed. My son initially installed the battery backwards and blew the battery relay, but we replaced it and the car ran okay for awhile.
Fuses have been checked (per FAQ) they are all good.
Initial no start was traced to coil (no spark).
>Plugs were replaced (they were OLD) and new rotor for dizzy.
>Second no start was traced to ignition module (no spark) and new dizzy cap.
>Third no start fuel pump wasn't engaging. Check fuses, bench tested main relay, jumped terminals to power fuel pump, k-tested ECU and replaced ECU. >Also cleaned and tightened FIT valve and reset idle and compression tested cylinders.
>Bench tested MAP sensor (has power, ground and drops voltage when vacuum is applied)
When the car runs it sounds better than when we bought it.
The problem is that it randomly stalls. Upon trying to start the fuel pump does not kick in, but if we plug and unplug the MAP sensor it will start right up.
As an side note the SRS light is continually on and will not reset. I don't think these two issues are related.
Any suggestions?
