'94 CX w/ H22 charging problems
Just as title states I have a '94 hatch with an h22 and is giving me charging problems above 3000 rpm. At idle and below 3000 rpms it charges fine, above 3000 rpms the battery light comes on and my gauge lights go dim. Replaced alternator, and that didn't work. So I took off the alternator and got it tested and it passed. Then I replaced the power wire to the fuse box, and that didn't work either. Battery is a little over a year old, and holds charge. All the voltage readings are normal. And while running I disconnected the power wire and the car stayed on (I know you can fry some s*** up, but I was desperate). Now I'm stumped on what it might be. The only thing I can think of, would be the harness..that little green plug that plugs in the alternator?? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee

turn your headlights, rear defroster, basically put as much load as you can then rev to 3k and tap in the big wire at the alternator green plug and see how many amps its putting out, no less than 65amps, 99% sure its your alt, tester at the parts store sucks b****

Re: '94 CX w/ H22 charging problems
well, just 2 days later i had to drive home blind because my battery was dying. got home charged it a little. battery 12.7v car off, 12.8v car on. checked the battery fuse, and it looks burnt but while charging tested with dmm on one side it was 13.8v and the other was 13.75v so current goes through. then checked the alternator and it was .08v. so i guess vatozone sold me a bad alternator. Im going to replace the battery neg. wire, the battery fuse, and the grounds on the motor to something like 4..or 0 gauge ha.
My question is, this is going to be something like my 7th time in 4 months having to replace the alternator. when it first happend, i replaced the alternator wire with a 4 gauge wire. I know its a vatozone remanufactred alt. but do you think there might be a short in the harness or something that can cause the alt. to go bad so soon?? or is it just bad remanufacturing...

Re: '94 CX w/ H22 charging problems
get a decent/good alt
if you tap into fat wire at the alt and then tap the same wire at the batt post, if you lose less than .5V you're good, more then that means harness bad/poor connection
