94 civic vx
i have read all the topics in this forum and searched but i don't see anything about the civic vx. is there any advantage or disadvantage to buying a vx hatch. i think i read something about them having 5 wire o2 sensors to get a leaner air fuel mixture so they get better gas mileage. would this be a problem with engine swaps?

Re: 94 civic vx (andruw446)
generally when you do a swap you change stuff like that over to match the engine.
so if you swap an engine that calls for a 4 wire o2 then you would run a 4 wire o2

um, isn't it kinda better if you're gonna swap in a z6/y8 or a dohc vtec. I read on some dude's ebay sale that since it's a vtec-e the swap will be a smaller hassle since it's already prewired. I don't know if it's an accurate statement, or that straight forward for that matter. But before you swap, you'll have ridiculous gas milage

The swap is extremely easy to wire up. Your car is already wired for vtec. All you have to do is move a few wires. Here's my instructions: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=644434

do you know if the vx motor uses a stratified charge combustion chamber or is it just really good at controling the air fuel mixture. your civic looks pretty clean

Re: 94 civic vx (dwnthehatch)
I have a 92 vx and I love it, great on gas 50mpg. very light and wired for vtec if I ever wanted to do a swap down the road. People think they are the slowest civic but mine keeps up with the Si/EX models even till about 40mph, then they just inch me out. Stock rear air diffuser and front lip.
Things I don't like about it, no clock, only 2 speakers, no right side mirror, no headlight warning beep, no curise control. but those things may have changed for the 94 VX I'm not sure.

the only thing that i know of that is better on a stock VX is that it comes with a tach, pre-wired for vtec, alloys( which you should replace anyways), and it's lighter than any other hatch.
