94 civic overheated and now starter won't catch the flywheel
Okayy so my radiator hose blew the other day && my car over heated. Right after I saw that it was over heating I pulled over and then I tried to start my car and it was like the starter was going but not catching the fly wheel. My brother checked it out and the starter is fine. Can anybody help me?

Re: 94 homda civic
just by the sound of it, its highly possible that you might have blown your head gasket thus no compression thus your starter is spinning like crazy.
You can find out if this is the case by doing a compression test on the cylinders.
Also make sure that your timing belt is still intact and mechanically on all timing marks. search on h-t for info on both

seized motor another possibility you can check for this by trying to turn your engine by using a breaker bar and 19 or 17 mm socket with extension on the crank pully bolt and try to turn your engine counterclockwise and it should turn if it does not turn then its seized.
The compression test involves using a compression tester (auto store loan-out) the procedure can be found in posts here on h-t
