I had this problem once before and the mechanic that was fixing my car at the time got it to operate again, although I am not sure what he did.. any quick fixes to get it operating again like he did until I can afford to replace whatever may be wrong.

it's 4 door power windows, all work except the driver window

okay so I took off the panel and replugged in the switch box to test it... I click it up and down and I can hear a clicking sound coming from the passenger side. but it is not the passenger side window switch im clicking up and down.

It is possible you hear the clicking of the relay which is located under the hood on the right side firewall near battery. If that's working, you can then take a test light and find the connector to the window motor itself. See if it is getting 12v and if it is, the motor is bad. You could try whacking it with something to see if you can motivate it and also pull up on window (if it's stuck down) whilst operating the switch.
