Default 94 civic idle drops and car dies

Hello all I have been having this issue for about a month now. Pretty much as I'm driving around the car will start to idle real low and die. Once it dies it fires right up and runs perfect for the rest of the time I'm driving. However the other day after it died it threw a code 15. Once i turned the car on and back off then on again the code went away, and it drove fine with no dying out issues. Anything I could check to see why its doing this? Plugs and wires have been changed, main relay was fixed (had problems starting when i first got it) Thanks for the help

Code 15: Ignition Output Signal missing or defective ignition output signal"

Here's a related post: https://www.ek9.org/index.php?thread...-signal.19932/
Sounds like a potential weak/failing (but not completely failed) ignition coil or igniter inside the distributor. Problem is that is intermittent and even during testing it may not reveal itself unless the issue can be duplicated. Here's a link to testing: Part 1 -How to Test the Igniter, Ignition Coil Accord, Civic, CRV, and Odyssey

Another way is to spark test without using an HEI spark tester..a weak coil could fully fail during testing in the following manner: Remove (any) spark plug from cylinder head, attach the spark plug wire back on, Ssing a rubber insulated or wooden tool grasp the spark plug boot..have someone crank the engine while you hold the spark plug near exhaust manifold and then slowly increase space/distance of spark plug tip and exhaust manifold. This test can usually finish off a weak coil and a stronger can typically survive it.

I had something similar to this happen on my 95 and it ended up being that the oil seal in the distributor failed causing damage to the internals and even caused my coil to heat up and pop its seams. you might check for oil inside the distributor case or even in the cap
